Passage Narration

1.  The teacher said to the students, “Hello dear students, what’s up?” “Well, sir. What about you?” said the students. “Well. Have you prepared your lesson today?”  “Sorry sir, we didn’t understand some grammatical points you discussed yesterday,” said the students. The teacher said, “Oh I see. Let’s discuss it again.”

2.  The stranger said to the boy, “Can you tell me the way to the nearest inn?” “Yes sir, I can. Do you want a residential one in which you can spend the night?” said the boy. ‘I do not want to stay there but I only want a meal,” replied the man. “Paradise Garden will be better for you,” said the boy.

3.  Suddenly a voice called out, “Good morning gentlemen. Where are you going and what are you doing here?” “Oh, nowhere and nothing.” But you look so pensive, why?”  “Yes, you are right, we are looking for something,” replied the six blind men. 

4.  The class teacher said to the students, “Do you know what Dengue is?” “No, sir, please tell us about it clearly,” said the students. “It’s a disease which is caused by a mosquito named Aedes.” “How can we save ourselves from it?” asked the students. “By keeping us and our environment neat and clean we can save ourselves from it,” said the class teacher.

5.  Rosamond said to her mother, “What is it mum? I didn’t want this black thing and the terrible smell.” Mother said, I don’t know, my dear.” Rosamond again said to her mother, “But what shall I do with it? Mother said, “I can’t tell.” “Okay, Mum, I must pour it out and filled the jar with fresh water.

Answers

1.  The teacher drew the attention of the students and endearingly asked them how they were. The students respectfully replied that they were well and asked him/her how he/she was. Then the teacher replied that he/she was well and again asked if they had prepared their lesson that day. The students again replied that they were sorry and added that they had not understood some grammatical points he/she had discussed the previous day. The teacher could understand and proposed that they should discuss it again.

2.  The stranger asked the boy if he (B) could tell him (S) the way to the nearest inn. The boy respectfully replied in the affirmative and said that he (B) could tell. The boy then asked the stranger if he (S) wanted a residential one in which he (S) could spend the night. After that the stranger replied that he (s) did not want to stay there but he (S) only wanted a meal. The boy said that Paradise Garden would be better for him (S).

3.  Suddenly, addressing the six blindmen as gentlemen, a voice wished them good morning and asked them where they were going and what they were doing. They exclaimed that they were going nowhere and were doing nothing. Then the voice told them that they looked so pensive and wanted to know the reason. After that the six blindman agreed with the voice and said that it was right. They added that they were looking for something.

4.  The class teacher asked the students if they knew what Dengue is. The students politely replied in the negative and requested him/her to tell them about it clearly. Then the class teacher told the students that it is a disease which is caused by a mosquito named Aedes. After that, the students wanted to know how they could save themselves from it. The teacher clarified the students saying that they could save themselves from it by keeping them and their environment neat and clean.

5.  Rosamond addressed her mother as mum and asked her (M) what it was and said that she (R) had not wanted that black thing and the terrible smell. Mother affectionately told her (R) that she (M) didn’t know it. But Rosamond again asked her mother what she (R) would do with that. Mother replied that she (M) couldn’t tell. Rosamond said that it was okay and endearingly told her mother that she (R) had to pour it out and fill the jar with fresh water.
